Evaluation - Factory Ride Goggles

Goggles, they are one piece of protective wear that is always hotly debated. And it seems that what you had as a kid or what your favourite rider uses, is what you run. Yes, I am guilty of this, in my career I used one brand of goggles due to their support, but it wasn't till stepping away and moving into this role in the industry did I start to experiment and damn, there is some serious technology intrenched in these new goggles.

Technology? you may be thinking. What technology can possibly be in goggles? I am here to tell a lot of thought goes into these goggles even down to the Lense.

And this is where I start. The guys at Factory Ride Goggles reached out to see if I would test their new goggle offering for 2023. First impressions are, that these are seriously good-looking goggles. Made by the guys at EKS Brand, they share a lot of features, but the branding is very on brand for FXR (which Factory Ride is a sister company of FXR) the bold, Vibrant colours make them easy to spot and very Appealing.

Key Features to the Factory Ride Goggle-

• WAVELATCH Quick-change lens locking system

• Rugged DYAD frame, double injected to our race proven POLYFLEX face-forming inner frame

• FLOAIR ventilation system with moisture channel

• Rigid outrigger system

• 20mm multilayer contoured face foam

• 45mm ultra-wide woven strap with silicone traction control

LENS TECHNOLOGIES

• XDO technology features Xtreme Definition Optic lens with hard coat and anti-fog treatment

• Low-rise impact-resistant pre-curved polycarbonate lens

• Ultra-wide field of view accepts 45mm roll-off film system

OTHER TECHNOLOGIES

• Detachable vented nose shield

• Quick-change roll off system compatible

• Soft storage/cleaning bag included

Factory Ride have brought a premium product to the market, from the multilayer foam that was wicking up the sweat from the hot days we get here in Southeast Queensland to the epic field of view. The Quick-change Lense was a neat feature that I played with that makes installation of a new Lense a breeze. Staying with the Lense the Factory Ride goggle comes with and mirrored tinted Lense that with its Lense technology really helped define the intricate pieces otherwise lost on the track, this helps with knowing exactly what's coming up next on the track. Even something as simple as the strap that silicone traction control on the wider, 45mm strap stuck to the helmet like glue and helped me set the goggles on my face in the ultimate location with Zero movement throughout my ride.

For a goggle the Factory Rides are pressing forward in the Technologies of the future and were a perfectly face fitting, comfortable goggle that opened my eyes to goggle technology.
